40Mn High Mechanical Performance Structural Steel Plate
The three materials of 35Mn, 40Mn, and 45Mn all belong to high-quality carbon structural steel, with the main difference being that the carbon content is different and the other components are the same. The difference in carbon content is directly related to the material properties.
40Mn characteristic usage
40Mn carbon structural steel can be used in the normalized state, as well as in the quenched and tempered state. Good cutting performance, moderate plasticity during cold deformation, and poor welding performance. Used for manufacturing parts that withstand fatigue loads, such as shaft rollers and screws, nuts, etc. that work under high stress.
The hardenability is slightly higher than that of 40 steel. After heat treatment, the strength, hardness, and toughness are slightly higher than those of 40 steel, with moderate cold deformation plasticity, good machinability, low weldability, sensitivity to overheating and temper brittleness, and easy cracking after water quenching. Suitable for fatigue resistant parts, crankshafts, rollers, shafts, and connecting rods.
