Nickel-iron alloy application

The largest use of nickel ironEarly Fe-Ni alloys were used for telephone communication. Later, a heat treatment process and vacuum smelting were used to improve the properties of the alloys. The permeability of Fe-Ni alloy containing Ni78% is about 10 ~ 20 times higher than that of silicon steel in weak magnetic field. It is widely used in sensitive relays, magnetic shielding, telephone and radio transformers, precision AC and DC instruments, and current transformers (see transformers). for stainless steel charge, as a substitute for nickel, under normal circumstances, 200 series stainless steel can be used directly with low grade nickel iron, 300 series stainless steel supplies in more than 8% nickel iron.

Nickel-iron classification

According to smelting equipment nickel iron is divided into blast furnace nickel iron and electric furnace nickel iron, the taste of blast furnace nickel iron is generally low, mostly containing nickel below 8%, and electric furnace nickel iron generally containing nickel more than 8%.
