Applications of C100S spring steel
1、 Applications include piano wire (also known as music wire) such as ASTM A228 (0.80–0.95% carbon), spring clamps, antennas, springs (e. g. vehicle coil springs or leaf springs), and s-tines. 2、 Spring steel is commonly used in the manufacture of swords with rounded edges for training or stage combat, as well as sharpened swords for collectors and live combat. 3、Spring steel is one of the most popular materials used in the fabrication of lockpicks due to its pliability and resilience. 4、Tubular spring steel is used in the landing gear of some small aircraft due to its ability to absorb the impact of landing. 5、 It is frequently used in the making of knives, machetes, and other edged tools. 6、 It is used in electrical fish tapes. 7、 It is used in binder clips. 8、 Used extensively in shims due to its resistance to deformation in low thicknesses.
C100S spring steel description
Spring steels are steels that are used exclusively for the manufacture of springs and elastic elements due to their elasticity in the hardened and tempered state.
The elasticity of steel depends on its ability to deform elastically, i.e., within a specified range, the ability to deform elastically so that it can withstand a certain load without permanent deformation after the load is removed.
Spring steel should have excellent overall performance, such as mechanical properties, resistance to elasticity reduction performance (that is, resistance to elasticity reduction performance, also known as resistance to relaxation performance), fatigue performance, hardenability, physical and chemical properties (heat resistance, low temperature resistance, oxidation resistance, corrosion resistance, etc.).
In order to meet the above performance requirements, spring steel has excellent metallurgical quality (high purity and uniformity), good surface quality , accurate shape and size.
