What is Alloy Steel Plate?
Alloy steel plate are employable in applications that require higher strength, improved toughness or better wear resistance than standard carbon steel grades. The ASME SA387 Plate standard covers chrome molybdenum alloy steel plates used for pressure vessels in elevated temperature service above 212° F (100° C).
The mechanical properties of these Low Alloy Steel Plate are dependent on the addition of elements such as nickel, molybdenum, chromium and vanadium. Added molybdenum makes the Alloy Steel Plate greater temperature tensile strength and the chromium gives improved corrosion resistance. These Hot Rolled Alloy Steel Plate are used in many applications where high tensile properties are required such as oil, gas and petrochemical industry where liquids and gases are often stored at higher temperatures.
