403 stainless steel is mainly used for steam turbine blades and high-stress components, pulp mill bleaching systems, seawater treatment equipment, high-oil distillation towers and equipment, generally not up to food grade, and not used for tableware.
403 stainless steel plate advantage
403 stainless steel has better heat resistance, high strength and hardness. 403 stainless steel is highly resistant to atmospheric corrosion because of its ability to form a tightly adherent oxide film. Maximum corrosion resistance is obtained by hardening and polishing.
403 stainless steel is an excellent stainless steel and heat-resistant steel for turbine blades and high-stress components. 403 stainless steel belongs to martensitic stainless steel, containing 12% to 30% chromium. Its corrosion resistance, toughness and weldability increase with the increase of chromium content, and its resistance to chloride stress corrosion is better than other types of stainless steel. Martensite is one of the microstructure types of steel. The mass fraction of chromium in this type of steel is 11.5%~18.0%, while the mass fraction of carbon can reach up to 0.6%. The increase of carbon content increases the strength and hardness of steel. Its mechanical properties can be adjusted by heat treatment, but the weldability of this type of steel is poor.
