High Carbon Steel Description
High carbon steel after proper heat treatment or cold drawing hardening, has high strength and hardness, high elastic limit and fatigue limit, machinability is good, but welding performance and cold plastic deformation ability is poor. Due to the high carbon content, cracks are easy to occur during water quenching, so double liquid quenching is often used, and oil quenching is often used for small section parts. This type of steel is usually used after quenching by tempering or normalizing at medium temperature or in the surface quenching state. It is mainly used to make springs and wear-resistant parts. Carbon tool steel is a kind of high carbon steel which basically does not add alloying elements. It is also a kind of steel with low cost, good cold and hot workability and wide range of use. With a carbon content of 0.65 to 1.35%, it is specially used for tool making. High carbon steel density 7.81g/cm³. Can be used in the production of fishing gear.

High Carbon Steel Application:
1、High carbon Steel is used mainly for cutting edges, compression springs, farming and gardening equipment, and other high-wear applications.
2、High carbon Steel can be also used for applications in which high strength, hardness and wear resistance are necessary, such as wear parts, knives, saw blades, springs, gear wheels, chains, brackets, washers etc. The formability is improved if the material is annealed before forming.
